The overall process

Theresa and I have developed a specific process regarding Airships and Submarines.

Our process consists of writing scripts, creating cards for given scripts, and editing all documents. One of the goals for this process is to iterate over and over until the documents reach a point that is substantial enough to be able to move on from. The point of this goal is to ensure that Airships and Submarines is the best it can possibly be and to also prevent any kind of mistake that could lead to issues later down the line when we are more near the end of development.

Theresa and/or I first write the scripts, and then I edit them multiple times. Using a template in Adobe Illustrator, we then create the first iteration of the cards including: pictures for the character depictions, dialogue boxes for the speech and thoughts of the characters, and gray boxes to explain the mechanics.

Next, we continue to iterate and edit until the both the scripts and the cards are at a satisfactory point within their development cycle.

The next step to the process is to create a physical prototype to be able to sufficiently playtest. Then, it is a constant loop of editing and iterating until the game is complete.
