Latest update of game
A lot has happened to the game since the beginning of this blog. As of late, Airships and Submarines is a card game about parental conflicts and how they affect not only the children involved but also how they affect the fighting parents as well. There are varying mechanics such as hand management as well as card collection and puzzle solving.
Through these various mechanics, we are trying to make a game that does not create shame for any player. The point of Airships and Submarines is to foster a sense of empathy and understanding for all players involved.
There are varying characters to choose from and players can even create their own character to be a part of the story. The different characters included in the first few levels are: Jordan (the main protagonist), Zebulon, Riley, and Clementine. Every character is dealing with parental dispute in some capacity and our hope is to provide players with an abundance of variety so that they can easily connect to another character.
In addition, players are able to collect resources in-game as well as in real life. These resources provide some sort of benefit for the player and the plan is to provide the physical resources that are built by the in-game characters for the player as well. For example, if there is a tool that is built in the game by Jordan, then the players will be provided with physical tools that can further help them in times of need.
