Current Work

Through My Child’s Eyes: Imaginative Play to Promote Peaceful Behavior in Separated and Divorcing Parents

Purpose: Decades of research have shown that exposure to parental conflict predicts poor outcomes for children across family structures, socioeconomic status, and cultural and geographic lines. Children exposed to parental conflict are more likely to develop mental and physical health problems.

Premise: The open question is: as the parents play through their children’s eyes, will they be able to see themselves as their children see them and see themselves as the agent for change - will the imaginative play in the game have a transformative effect?

Designing Moral Games: A Manifesto on Games, Moral Agency, Systemic Justice, and Human Possibility

Purpose: To give designers true philosophical fluency—a language for thinking about justice, autonomy, and obligation within the mechanics they build—and to empower players as moral agents who can recognize the ethical propositions embedded in every game world they inhabit.

Premise: This book trilogy offers a framework for Prescriptive Game Design grounded in ethical theory and lived practice, treating design as a moral act. Each volume explores a distinct lens— duty, shared welfare, virtue—and reimagines these theories as design tools for narrative, mechanics, and systems of player agency.
